As a financial co-operative that's dedicated to bettering the planet, we take actions to create, protect and sustain healthy environments.

Highlights of our environmental sustainability initiatives include:

• Winning the 2017 National Credit Union Social Responsibility Award for reducing our Greenhouse Gas emissions by 56% since 2012Being named as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers in 2019, for the 8th year in a row
• Reducing internal paper consumption by 54% between 2010 and 2018
• Reducing external paper use by over 75% between 2010 and 2018
• Switching to 100% post-consumer waste paper
• Decreasing the greenhouse gas impacts of employee commuting by 48% between 2010 and 2018
• Diverting over 300 tonnes of recyclables from the landfill between 2010 and 2018
• Composting over 7000 kilograms of organic waste between 2016 and 2019 through a partnership with Compost Winnipeg, a  local social enterprise
• Designing four branches with geothermal or district energy to heat and cool the buildings
• Completing Power Smart for Buildings renovations or retrofits at 6 XPress locations
• Designation for 200 Main Street as a Bike Friendly Workplace
• The first credit union in Canada to purchase green natural gas from Bullfrog Power
• Being the first Carbon Neutral credit union in Manitoba
• Being the first business in Canada to purchase Fairtrade Certified carbon offsets
